Arrows Hobby T-33 50mm EDF Jet Full Assembly Guide (PNP Version ARR019P)
Arrows T-33 50mm EDF
Important Prep Notes This is a PNP kit. EDF motor, ESC, 39g servos are pre-installed inside fuselage. What you need to supply: 4/6CH radio + receiver, 3S LiPo 1300C2200mAh XT60, LiPo charger. Required glue: Foam-safe medium CA glue (standard CA melts EPO foam DO NOT use regular superglue). Recommended build time: 20C30 minutes.
Step 1: Unpack & Inspect All Parts
Check contents:
- Fuselage (prebuilt with EDF, ESC, servos, wiring harness)
- One-piece main wing
- Horizontal stabilizer (tailplane)
- Pair of wing tip auxiliary fuel tanks
- Hardware bag: 4 KA2.012mm screws
- Pushrods / control linkages
Check all wiring, servos, fan for damage before assembly.
Step 2: Install Main Wing
- Route the aileron Y-harness wire through the fuselage wing cutout slot.
- Slide the full wing into the fuselage wing saddle carefully. Do not pinch servo wires.
- Secure wing with the four supplied KA2.012mm screws. Do not over-tighten screws risk crushing EPO foam.
- Tuck excess wiring neatly into fuselage cavity.
Step 3: Mount Horizontal Stabilizer (Elevator Tail)
- Dry-fit horizontal stabilizer into the rear fuselage tail slot. Confirm perfect alignment.
- Apply foam-safe CA glue onto the mating surfaces of stabilizer and fuselage. Insert firmly.
- Wait for glue to fully cure.
- Connect elevator pushrod between servo arm and elevator control horn. Adjust linkage so elevator is neutral (level) at radio center stick. Secure the linkage keeper.
Step 4: Install Wing Tip Auxiliary Fuel Tanks
- Distinguish left / right tanks they are not identical.
- Dry fit tanks onto the dedicated slots on wingtips.
- Apply foam-safe CA glue and mount both tanks. Leave glue to cure fully.
Step 5: Radio Wiring & Receiver Setup
- Open the cockpit battery hatch. Locate the servo wiring harness inside fuselage. Standard receiver channel wiring (Futaba layout):
- Ch1 Aileron
- Ch2 Elevator
- Ch3 Throttle (EDF fan)
- Ch4 Rudder (unused on basic T-33; Vector version uses extra channels)
If you have the Vector gyro-equipped variant, follow the manuals channel switch assignments for gyro modes.
- Mount your receiver in the empty cavity near the battery hatch. Secure with double-sided foam tape.
- Neatly bundle all loose wires to avoid interfering with battery movement.
Step 6: Battery Installation & Center of Gravity (CG) Setup
Recommended battery: 3S 11.1V 1300C2200mAh 30C XT60 LiPo
- Install hook-and-loop tape inside battery bay and onto your LiPo battery.
- Slide battery into fuselage battery compartment; fasten with built-in strap. Official CG Position: 60C70 mm back from wing leading edge at wing root
- Move battery forward = nose heavier
- Move battery rearward = tail heavier Test balance by lifting aircraft at CG point; slight nose-down balance is ideal for first flights.
Step 7: Pre-Flight Servo & Radio Test (Critical Safety Step)
- Transmitter ON FIRST. Set throttle stick to minimum/low position.
- Connect LiPo battery to the ESC XT60 plug. Wait for ESC initialization beeps.
- Test all control surfaces:
- Ailerons: left/right stick wing ailerons move correctly
- Elevator: fore/aft stick elevator tilts up/down
- Verify servo travels are smooth; no binding on linkages.
The ESC has throttle safety start. Fan will NOT spin unless throttle is at low position on power-up. Keep hands clear of EDF inlet/outlet at all times.
Step 8: Final Preflight Checklist Before Maiden Flight
- All glue joints fully cured
- Wing, tail, tip tanks securely fastened
- All control linkages locked, no slop
- CG correctly set
- Radio range test completed
- LiPo fully charged
- Check EDF fan: no rubbing inside shroud, free rotation by hand
Common Assembly Troubleshooting Tips
- Foam melting: Always use foam-safe CA glue only.
- Servo binding: Reposition wiring; check pushrod alignment.
- Fan fails to spin: Confirm throttle at lowest position when connecting battery; check XT60 connection.
- Loose tail: Add small extra amount of foam-safe CA along stabilizer seam.
Arrows Hobby T-33 50mm EDF Build Checklist (Printable)
Kit: ARR019P PNP | Required Supplies: Foam-safe CA glue, 3S LiPo battery, 4+CH radio/receiver
Pre-Build
Unpack all parts, inspect fuselage, wing, horizontal stabilizer, tip tanks, screws & pushrods for damage
Confirm EDF fan, ESC, servos and internal wiring have no cuts or rubs
Prepare foam-safe CA glue (DO NOT use regular super glue; melts EPO foam)
Assembly Steps
-
Main Wing Installation Route aileron Y-harness through fuselage wing cutout (avoid pinching wires) Slide wing fully into fuselage saddle Secure wing with 4 KA2.012mm screws C do NOT over-tighten Tuck excess wiring neatly inside fuselage
-
Horizontal Stabilizer (Elevator Tail) Dry-fit stabilizer to rear fuselage slot and check alignment Apply foam-safe CA to mating surfaces, insert stabilizer Allow glue full curing time Attach elevator pushrod between servo arm and elevator horn Adjust linkage to set elevator neutral; install linkage keeper
-
Wing Tip Auxiliary Fuel Tanks Identify left / right tip tanks Dry fit onto wingtips Glue in place with foam-safe CA; wait for full cure
-
Receiver & Radio Wiring Open cockpit battery hatch Connect harness to receiver (Standard Channel Layout) Ch1: Aileron | Ch2: Elevator | Ch3: Throttle | Ch4: Rudder (unused standard model) Mount receiver with foam double-sided tape inside fuselage cavity Organize loose wires to prevent jamming battery
-
CG & Battery Setup Recommended battery: 3S 1300C2200mAh 30C XT60 LiPo Fit hook-and-loop tape in battery bay and on battery Secure battery with built-in strap Set CG: 60C70 mm behind wing root leading edge Balance plane; slight nose-down tendency preferred for maiden flight
Pre-Flight Electronic Test (SAFETY FIRST)
Turn transmitter ON first, throttle stick to minimum
Plug LiPo battery into ESC XT60 connector
Wait for ESC initialization tones
Test control movement:
Ailerons C correct left/right direction
Elevator C correct up/down direction
Check all surfaces move freely with no binding
Manually spin EDF fan C confirm no rubbing inside shroud
Final Maiden Flight Checklist
All glued joints fully cured
Wing, tail and tip tanks securely attached
All control linkages locked with no play/slop
CG verified and adjusted

Troubleshooting Quick Notes
Foam damage = only use foam-safe CA
Fan wont start = throttle must be at minimum when powering on
Binding controls = re-align pushrods, check trapped wiring
