Arrows Hobby F-15 F15 Eagle twin 64mm PNP Jet Assembly Guide

Model Code: AH015P (PNP)
This is a PNP airframe: EDFs, motors, servos, ESCs, wiring are pre-fitted. You only need 6CH radio receiver + 6S LiPo battery + charger.

Required Tools & Supplies

  • Medium CA glue (superglue) + CA accelerator (for stabilizers)
  • Small Phillips screwdriver (included screw set: M3��10mm)
  • Tape, hobby knife
  • Recommended battery: 6S 22.2V 3300�C4000mAh 35C+ LiPo (XT90/EC5)
  • 6-channel RC transmitter + compatible receiver

Step 1: Inventory Check

Confirm all parts before assembly:
  1. Fuselage (pre-installed twin 64mm EDF, dual 40A ESC, 9��9g servos, retracts, LED lights)
  2. 2-piece main wings
  3. Carbon wing spar
  4. Horizontal stabilizers (2pcs)
  5. Vertical stabilizers (2pcs)
  6. Magnetic nose cone
  7. Missile/pylon accessories
  8. M3��10 fixing screws

Step 2: Main Wing Installation (Most Critical Step)

  1. Slide the carbon wing spar fully into the fuselage central tunnel.
  2. Route left & right wing servo wires carefully through the fuselage openings. Do NOT pinch/crush wires.
  3. Slide left/right wing halves onto the spar, push wings flush against fuselage.
  4. Plug wing servo connectors to fuselage wiring harness.
  5. Secure both wings with supplied M3��10 screws on underside wing roots.
Tip: Test aileron & flap servo movement immediately after plugging in to avoid trapped wiring.

Step 3: Horizontal & Vertical Stabilizer Mounting

  1. Locate the tail mounting slots on rear fuselage.
  2. Apply medium CA glue to the stabilizer mounting tabs.
  3. Plug servo leads for elevator/rudder surfaces first.
  4. Insert horizontal stabilizers, then vertical fins.
  5. Align perfectly straight; use tape to hold while glue cures. Add accelerator for fast setting.
Do not rush alignment crooked tail causes constant flight trim correction.

Step 4: Nose Cone & Scale Accessories

  1. Fit magnetic nose cone onto front fuselage; it simply clips in place.
  2. Slide missiles/pylons onto wing hardpoints and slide rearward to lock.
  3. Install pilot figure, antenna details if desired.

Step 5: Radio Receiver Wiring Setup

PNP harness wiring layout (standard channel assignment):
  • Ch1: Ailerons
  • Ch2: Elevator
  • Ch3: Throttle (Twin EDFs)
  • Ch4: Rudder
  • Ch5: Landing Gear Retracts
  • Ch6: Flaps
  1. Mount receiver inside fuselage cockpit area, away from ESC power wires (reduce interference).
  2. Connect all servo harness plugs to your receiver.
  3. Route receiver antennae outside fuselage (out of carbon/foam shadow).
The twin 40A ESC shares a single main battery plug; one battery powers both engines.

Step 6: Battery Installation & CG Setup

Recommended CG: 125�C135 mm back from wing leading edge
  1. Open latch canopy.
  2. Use built-in hook-and-loop straps to secure the 6S LiPo pack.
  3. Slide battery forward/back to balance the plane correctly.
  • Nose heavy = move battery rearward
  • Tail heavy = move battery forward
Factory recommended: 3300mAh 6S gives near-perfect CG without extra weights.

Step 7: Servo Travel & Control Throw Settings (Factory Default)

Dual-rate setup for maiden flight: START ON LOW RATES

  1. Power on radio, connect flight battery.
  2. Check all control surface directions:
    • Pull elevator back �� elevator moves UP
    • Right stick right �� right aileron UP, left aileron DOWN
    • Rudder stick right �� tail rudder swings RIGHT
  3. Reverse any incorrect channels in your transmitter menu.
  4. Test retracts: Ch5 up = gear extend; Ch5 down = gear retract.
  5. Test flaps (Ch6): slow deployment/retraction.

Step 8: EDF Motor Arm & Rotation Check

  1. Set throttle stick to minimum, throttle trim lowest.
  2. Plug in 6S battery. Listen for ESC beep sequence (6 beeps = 6S detected).
  3. Slowly advance throttle; both fans must spin inward (correct intake direction).
If any EDF spins backwards: swap any two of the three motor wires on that ESC.
ESC brake: Factory default = OFF. Leave brake OFF for flight.

Step 9: Full Pre-Flight Checklist

  1. All glue joints fully cured
  2. All screws tight; no loose linkages
  3. Wires not binding when controls move
  4. CG confirmed within 125�C135mm range
  5. All control directions verified
  6. Retracts cycle smoothly without binding
  7. Range test radio at field
  8. Check EDF fan housings for foam debris

Important Flight Tips

  • Maiden flight: Low rates, takeoff with flaps DOWN for shorter rollout
  • Do not apply full throttle on ground for long periods (heat buildup)
  • Flight time ~3.5�C4.5 minutes on 3300mAh 6S
  • Avoid aggressive low-speed maneuvers until you learn its handling

Troubleshooting Quick Reference

  • One fan does not spin: Check ESC wiring / servo harness power
  • Servos jitter: Receiver interference or weak BEC; keep RX away from power cables
  • Plane constantly pulls left/right: Tail misalignment or uneven control throws
  • Low voltage cutoff early: Under-rated LiPo battery

Arrows Hobby F-15 Twin 64mm PNP Receiver Installation Step-by-Step

This jet comes with a pre-wired main harness (PNP harness). No soldering required.
Important: This model uses a single common harness connector bank inside the cockpit.

1. Locate the Wiring Harness

  1. Open the canopy latch and lift the cockpit canopy off.
  2. Inside the fuselage, forward of the battery tray, you will see a bundled wiring loom with multiple male JR/Futaba servo plugs.
    These are all pre-installed:
  • Aileron pair
  • Elevator
  • Rudder
  • Flaps
  • Retract landing gear
  • LED light harness (optional)
  • Twin EDF ESC powered from the main battery plug

2. Receiver Placement Best Location

Mount receiver inside the cockpit cavity (above battery tray)
Ideal spot: Side wall of cockpit, clear of thick battery cables and carbon spars.
Do NOT place:
  • Directly next to ESC power wires (causes RF interference / servo jitter)
  • Under battery
  • Inside carbon reinforced sections (carbon blocks radio signal)

Mounting Method

Use double-sided foam servo tape (soft foam tape, not hard tape).
Do NOT glue receiver permanently.

3. Wiring Connection (Standard Channel Layout)

Match this channel assignment on your transmitter:

Plug each servo wire into the matching channel port on your receiver.

Quick wiring tips

  • Keep wiring neat; bundle loosely with small cable ties (don��t pinch wires)
  • Leave slack for canopy removal, battery sliding

4. Antenna Routing (CRITICAL for range safety)

Most modern receivers (Flysky, FrSky, Spektrum, Futaba):
  1. If you have two whip antennas:
    • Route one antenna out the canopy gap upward
    • Second antenna route sideways out a small fuselage slot
    • Keep antennas 90�� apart, never parallel
  2. Antennas must NOT touch carbon fiber and must stay outside foam/carbon tubes.
  3. Avoid running antennas parallel to heavy battery power cables.
For single antenna receivers: feed antenna out the cockpit opening upwards.

5. Power Confirmation

The PNP harness gets 5V power from the built-in ESC BEC.
No separate receiver battery needed.
  1. Transmitter ON first
  2. Plug flight battery into jet
  3. Receiver LED should light solid (normal bind status)

6. Post-Install Check

  1. Move all transmitter sticks and switches:
    • Ailerons, elevator, rudder respond smoothly
    • CH5 switch cycles retracts up/down
    • CH6 switch activates flaps
  2. Verify control directions (reverse channels in radio if backwards)
  3. Check no wires get trapped when canopy closes

7. Common Problems

  • Servo jitter: Move receiver further away from ESC/battery cables
  • Intermittent signal: Poor antenna routing
  • No servo power: Check all plugs fully seated

Extra note for popular receiver types

  • Spektrum DSMX: Bind as normal after wiring complete
  • FrSky Taranis / ExpressLRS: Bind procedure unchanged
  • ExpressLRS Nano receiver: Keep it well ventilated, avoid heat from EDFs behind

Spec Requirement

Battery: 6S 22.2V LiPo
Recommended: 3300mAh��4000mAh 35C+
Connector on airframe: XT90 (some batches EC5; use adapter if your battery plug differs)

Step 1: Open Canopy

Push the canopy front latch upward, lift the cockpit canopy off the fuselage.
You will see the dedicated battery tray in the forward fuselage with built-in hook & loop (velcro) straps.

Step 2: Place Battery on Tray

  1. Lay the LiPo flat onto the tray.
    Orientation Rule:
    Battery wires face TOWARD THE REAR (toward EDFs), plug near the harness socket.
    Do NOT face battery wires forward cable will be too short and strain the connector.
  2. Thread the factory velcro straps over the battery and tighten firmly.
Battery must NOT slide forward/backward during flight! Loose battery shifts CG and causes crash.

Step 3: CG Balance Check (VERY IMPORTANT)

Factory CG: 125�C135 mm behind wing leading edge
  1. Hold aircraft gently by finger tips under both wing roots (balance test).
  • Nose drops = too heavy forward �� slide battery back
  • Tail drops = rear heavy �� slide battery forward
    3300mAh 6S usually hits perfect CG without moving; 4000mAh may need slight rear adjustment.
Never fly if tail-heavy! Jet will be extremely unstable.

Step 4: Connect Power Cable

  1. Make sure your transmitter is switched ON first, throttle stick at minimum.
  2. Grab the main power lead (XT90) inside battery compartment, connect to battery plug.
  3. You will hear ESC startup beeps: 6 beeps = 6S cell detected.
Unplug battery immediately after finishing testing/flying do not leave LiPo connected idle.

Step 5: Route Cable Neatly

  • Do not pinch power wire between canopy and fuselage when closing canopy.
  • Leave enough slack; avoid sharp foam edges rubbing the wire insulation.
  • Keep thick high-current battery cable separated from receiver antenna to reduce radio interference.

Step 6: Close Canopy

Line up canopy rear tabs first, then press front down until the latch clicks locked.

Safety Rules

  1. Disconnect battery BEFORE adjusting servos, receiver, or doing any maintenance.
  2. Do not jam oversized batteries; must fit fully inside tray without forcing canopy shut.
  3. If battery gets warm after flight, let it cool before charging.
  4. Never use 4S / 5S battery this model requires 6S.

Common Troubleshooting

  • Canopy cannot lock: Battery sticks up too high �� use slimmer LiPo or reposition pack
  • Plane tail heavy after battery install: Move battery forward as far as velcro allows
  • ESC no beep when plugged in: Check XT90 connector fully engaged, broken wire
